The Pause before the Song
The clouds each hold their weight in blessings
Awaiting the appointed day;
The tide rolls in, and strolls back out
As heart strings long for chance to play;
On hold until you mark the date,
Please give me patience as I wait—
The epic of the ages told
By lingering color in the sky:
Tonight I’m mourning with the moon
But someday you will help me fly;
I know you hold my every tear,
Please give me courage through my fear—
I see the rain clouds rolling in,
I see the breaking of the dawn,
I feel my wings grow strong again,
My heart is bursting forth in song;
The storehouse opens, now I see
The perfect plans you had for me…
Awaiting the appointed day;
The tide rolls in, and strolls back out
As heart strings long for chance to play;
On hold until you mark the date,
Please give me patience as I wait—
The epic of the ages told
By lingering color in the sky:
Tonight I’m mourning with the moon
But someday you will help me fly;
I know you hold my every tear,
Please give me courage through my fear—
I see the rain clouds rolling in,
I see the breaking of the dawn,
I feel my wings grow strong again,
My heart is bursting forth in song;
The storehouse opens, now I see
The perfect plans you had for me…
