Farewell to Days Gone By

Thinking about how our lives change as Father leads us to new paths, there can be a sense of missing something in the days gone by... But Father is always bringing us to even better places in His wonderful plans for us. I do not regret the change, but enjoy what God has given...
My sister is getting married in a week and a half. We will miss our everyday interaction with her, but know that our times with her in the future will be even more wonderful.

Farewell to Days Gone By

Farewell, you pleasant days of old,
I leave you in the hands of God,
For He’s revealed new plans for me,
New mountain views for me to see;

Farewell, you trails I once held dear,
I’m called to newer paths to clear,
For by my Father’s perfect scheme
He’s brought me to a newer dream;

Farewell you moments now moved on,
I’ll miss you, but God’s brought the dawn—
Our tears forgotten in the morn
As countless blessings now are born…

Poetically speaking, that one's really good.
And I really liked the theme itself...life's an exciting adventure, each step more exciting than the last. But sometimes, the old days sound fun. 10 days to go....

That's a very, very nice poem.

Sometimes it's really hard to let go and move on. Sometimes I want to stay a little kid forever, but I can't. I'm often afraid of change and moving into a new stage of life, but at the same time . . . it's exciting. I'm eager to see where God will lead me in the future and in what ways He'll bless me and those around me. No, times won't always be easy, but with Him as my guide, I will always have true joy and love. That's what life's all about, isn't it?

Life really is an adventure; it is so awesome to turn around the corner and find what amazing plans Father has waiting for you...

I can be afraid of change, too, wondering if I'll be able to handle what is to come... But it helps so much to know that God is in control, and He has so many wonderful blessings waiting for us...

Yes, I've been learning that in a very real way this week... :-)
Sorry I haven't posted any new poems on here lately... All of the poetry I've written lately has been a little more personal... :-)
