The Golden Path
This poem was written in response to both what God's been doing in my life and what God's been doing in a friend's life over the past couple of months. Walking in faith is very difficult, but there is joy in the journey far beyond anything else we can find.
The Golden Path
To walk the golden path
I step out of the boat;
I’ve left behind the things I’ve loved
And pray that somehow I will float—
My tears are chasing me,
My fears are all around,
The price is more than I can pay
I long again for solid ground—
But on the golden path
I find that at my side
Is Jesus, who called out to me;
Though I am lost, He’ll be my guide—
This path is full of joy
For they who take His hand;
We walk together to the sun—
It’s God Himself who’s at the end…

Did you take that photograph or did you find it? It pulls the poem together.
I took the photograph last month when we were on Sanibel. The way the sunlight makes a "path" to the sun is really intriguing, and served as a great inspiration for a poem.

Yes, it gives the impression of walking on water being the "golden path" to God. ;-)
nicely done.
