Veils
With a veil between us,
We could not see God
Nor could He speak to us
Like He longed to do,
And so He used His own blood
To rip it in two,
That we might approach Him
With boldness.
He died to give us the freedom
To talk to Him,
To walk into His presence
And bask in His love.
But we never felt comfortable
Talking to God,
And so we decided
To sew back the veil
Between us,
Once again setting up other men
As a wall to guard us.
His love continues to chase us,
Ripping veil after veil,
Breaking chain after chain,
But still we choose to spend our time
Sewing veils.
We could not see God
Nor could He speak to us
Like He longed to do,
And so He used His own blood
To rip it in two,
That we might approach Him
With boldness.
He died to give us the freedom
To talk to Him,
To walk into His presence
And bask in His love.
But we never felt comfortable
Talking to God,
And so we decided
To sew back the veil
Between us,
Once again setting up other men
As a wall to guard us.
His love continues to chase us,
Ripping veil after veil,
Breaking chain after chain,
But still we choose to spend our time
Sewing veils.
