Unspoken
What kept your mouth from opening?
The treasures of infinity
Were yours to share with those around you;
You could have laid the blueprint out
To smash the accusations
And dam the daggers from their mouths…
Was your heart scarred worse than your back?
They called you names to paint you black,
And yet you would not draw your sword
And did not even speak a word
But took their daggers like a king
Who need not prove the throne is his…
It hurts the way they taunt you,
It hurts to not defend yourself,
It hurts to let the lies be spoken
And not let truth commend yourself,
But I will take this heavy cross
And let my pride be counted lost…
The treasures of infinity
Were yours to share with those around you;
You could have laid the blueprint out
To smash the accusations
And dam the daggers from their mouths…
Was your heart scarred worse than your back?
They called you names to paint you black,
And yet you would not draw your sword
And did not even speak a word
But took their daggers like a king
Who need not prove the throne is his…
It hurts the way they taunt you,
It hurts to not defend yourself,
It hurts to let the lies be spoken
And not let truth commend yourself,
But I will take this heavy cross
And let my pride be counted lost…
